This week’s Roundup delivers stories from Nepal and Hong Kong.
AHRC has recently conducted a trauma workshop in Nepal, titled “Trauma of Devastation – Rebuilding the Society”. The 19 participants comprised members of civil society, community workers, students, and volunteers in Kathmandu and focused how to approach and assist traumatised earthquake victims. AHRC TV speaks with participants about what they learned and also with psychologist Dr. Rajat Mitra who led the workshop.
Also in Nepal, AHRC TV reports on police violence against a group of Madhesis in southern Nepal who were watching a documentary film made by controversial activist Dr. C.K. Raut.
Finally, AHRC TV continues a report from last week’s Roundup about Hong Kong’s rapidly deteriorating press freedom. AHRC TV reporter Amila Sampath hit the streets of Hong Kong and spoke with people about the issue.
